Sagatov Associates is pleased to have two new employees join our team.  Here’s a brief introduction to them:

Bryon Maruca

Bryon, our newest Project Manager, has over 15 years of experience in the building industry.  He previously worked for Davis Construction on the commercial side, and for Mike Garcia Homes.  An early fascination with tools led to summer jobs where he could hone his carpentry skills.  He is proving to be an invaluable asset to the company already.  He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Christopher Newport University, and is currently trying to make sense of Arlington’s street naming system.  He is also forming Arlington’s first Extreme Big Wheel racing club.

Stan Khramov

Stan is a welcome addition to our design team as our in-house architect.  His vast knowledge of the various drafting programs allows him to quickly create our blueprints.  He has experience with a variety of programs including 3-D modeling, and has been working in the design field for over 12 years.  Stan emigrated from Russia 12 years ago, and has settled in the Northern Virginia area with his wife and 2 young boys.

We’re getting to the final stages at the home on Monroe Street in Arlington.

This two level rambler has been transformed into a three level, traditional style home with some very unique features.

The exterior is a classic blend of brick and stone; the brick wraps the house on all four sides. The home is enhanced with energy efficient windows and an extensive insulation package.

The first floor is a combination of formal and informal spaces with custom built touches throughout, such as wood and wrought iron stair rail system, an expansive built in media center, eye-catching wood arched openings, and stone veneered fireplaces.

Some of the finishes and details include: Exotic granite throughout, reclaimed wood mantels, a steam shower and heated floor in master bath and hardwood flooring on the two upper levels. The owners chose natural slate flooring for mudroom and basement, and they can enjoy their private deck off the master suite, while the kids play on the large deck with screened-in-porch off the main level. There is oil rubbed bronze hardware and dimmers throughout the house.

Maytag is recalling 2.3 million dishwashers because liquid rinse-aid can leak from its dispenser and come into contact with the dishwasher’s internal wiring which can short-circuit and ignite, posing a fire hazard.

The dishwashers were sold at department and appliance stores and by homebuilders nationwide from July 1997 through June 2001 for between $370 and $800.

The recall involves Maytag® and Jenn-Air® under counter or portable plastic tub dishwashers. They have received 135 reports of dishwasher fires.

Consumers can schedule a free in-home repair or receive a rebate of $150 or $250 toward the purchase of select new Maytag dishwashers. The amount of the rebate depends on the type of model to be purchased.
